Christina Velasco

VP of Operations

Christina Velasco is the not-so-secret weapon behind Salud Mental Oklahoma—co-founder, VP of Operations, and full-time champion for shattering mental health stigmas. Originally forged in the desert heat of Phoenix, Arizona, she’s now making waves in Yukon, Oklahoma, where she wrangles spreadsheets by day and three rambunctious boys by night (with her equally brave husband by her side). Christina’s energy comes from a fierce passion to illuminate hope wherever she goes, a torch passed down by her late mother, Rebeca. Armed with her mom’s signature spirit, she’s on a mission to spark positivity and transformation in everyone she meets. Edgy, empathetic, and downright unstoppable, Christina is the driving force you want on your side—both in the fight for mental health and in any impromptu kitchen dance-off.

Crystal Normand

Behavioral Health Case Manager II

Crystal Normand did not arrive in behavioral health by accident; she arrived with years of experience learning how to stay calm when everyone else was in crisis. Before joining Salud Mental Oklahoma, Crystal worked as a 911 dispatcher, where she developed a rare skill: listening fast, thinking clearly, and responding with humanity when people needed help the most. She later continued her professional journey with the OSBI, strengthening her ability to work with people, systems, pressure, and the kind of details that truly matter. Crystal earned her master’s degree in Counseling from Mid-America Christian University and is currently just one exam away from becoming an LPC under supervision. In other words, she has done the hard work, survived graduate school, and is now in that final stretch powered by coffee, faith, and determination. As a Behavioral Health Case Manager II, Crystal brings together real-world crisis experience, clinical preparation, and a calm presence that helps people feel seen, heard, and supported. Her style is clear, compassionate, and direct: support without judgment, guidance without the runaround, and practical help for people trying to take the next step. Outside of work, Crystal is married, a mother of two, and has a bonus son who is a track star at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. Her personal and professional life reflect something simple but powerful: Crystal understands family, pressure, resilience, and what it means to keep moving forward when life does not come with instructions. At Salud Mental Oklahoma, Crystal brings heart, experience, and that “let’s figure this out one step at a time” energy that patients need when they are working to rebuild stability, hope, and direction.
